Membership At Seattle Mosaic Arts, our commitment is to create a supportive shared space where people can come and work independently but in community, side by side, piecing together. If you are making more than one or two mosaics, then joining our studio, and learning how to do all the steps yourself, offers considerable savings. Mosaic Parties/Group Options Reserve a table During our open hours groups up to 4 persons may reserve a table. If you need to cancel we ask that you please do so 48 hours in advance of your scheduled reservation. This allows us to offer the space to other folks! $20 deposit required Rent our classroom We rent out our beautiful classroom space for $50/hr with a 2 hour minimum. Pick one big project to work on or choose a variety of our different projects to make as individuals. We ask that you pay the $100 minimum charge as your deposit when you make your reservation. You may cancel up to 7 days in advance. Rent the entire studio Celebrate a big occasion by gathering a group and creating something lasting. We rent our entire studio, complete with mosaic instruction, all customized to your needs. Studio is available for private parties Tuesdays/Thursdays days or evenings and Saturday/Sunday evenings If you are interested in hosting a party or staff event at the studio, please contact us. Children’s Mosaic Parties
Children’s Mosaic Parties Mosaic kits for children’s parties are ready for you to take home for an engaging party activity with no mess. Makes a beautiful, lasting, and useful party favor. Coaster Kit: A kit includes 10 coasters and plenty of kid friendly colorful glass, chosen by you or by us. Each child receives a coaster and makes her or his own design.Write name and phone number of each child on the coaster. Bring all completed coasters to the studio where they will be cemented and grouted. We can call the families to pick up their finished coasters, or you can pick them up at the studio and distribute them yourself. A kit with 10 coasters is $100. Additional coasters may be added at $8/coaster. We ask for an additional $75 deposit for the extra glass that we will refund when you bring back the leftover glass. 10 coasters require ~ 1.5 lbs of glass but you get 2 lbs. extra so that everyone has plenty of tiles to choose from. Studio Projects
SMA Studios SMA Studios, the production arm of Seattle Mosaic Arts, developed as a natural offshoot of the studio. We realized that combining the resources of the studio with the combined talents of the staff and other mosaicists, we were perfectly situated to produce mosaics for commissions and other larger projects. We have found that working as a team has really augmented the process. Not only do we have the benefit of group creative input, but the team approach also allows for efficient progression through the steps of the process, ensuring timely completion of the commissioned work. The core group of mosaicists is made up of the Claire Barnett, Emily Margherio, Christina Vaule and Alexandra Immel. Depending on the size and scope of the project we have many additional SMA mosaic artists who help with the projects. Commissions We accept commissions for private, commercial and public mosaics. We will work with the client from inspiration phase on, to help create the right mosaic for your space. Our methodology allows for great variety of involvement. Memorial Mosaics Memorial Mosaic sessions are scheduled privately with Claire and are an opportunity for individuals or small family groups to come together in a quiet environment to design and create mosaics in honor and remembrance of someone you’ve lost. View Larger Map Class/workshop registration policy All listed classes and workshops should have space available unless otherwise noted on the website. We ask for payment in full to hold your spot for our classes. You may pay in person, by mail or with a credit card over the phone. If you are sending in registration fees please email or call first so we can add you to the class list. CANCELLATION POLICY: You may withdraw your registration for our regular classes/workshops up to two weeks in advance for a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee. For our Visiting Artist Series, withdrawal must be 4 weeks in advance due to traveling and scheduling demands.
